How to set up a trading bot

Exchange automation setup

Bots run reliably on your exchange account.

You place orders by hand and miss entries or inconsistent sizing when you are away. You are unsure how to connect an external program to your exchange without exposing more access than necessary. You do not know how to test a strategy safely or how to keep it running continuously. You worry about an integration changing and breaking a running bot with no clear recovery steps.

Liquid Edge runs trading bots on the exchange account you already hold.

  • Create API keys for trading onlyGenerate API keys on your exchange, enable only the trading permissions the strategy needs, and store the key and secret in a secure local or vault location the bot can access.
  • Deploy a continuously running botConfigure the chosen strategy and start a deployed bot process that places and manages orders on your existing exchange account without needing you at the screen.
  • We never get withdrawal rights. Anywhere. On a perp DEX your funds sit in an isolated onchain vault only you can withdraw from. On a centralized exchange the exchange custodies them and we connect with API permissions limited to trading. Neither route lets Liquid Edge move your capital.

Frequently asked questions

Can I lose money using Liquid Edge?

Yes. Automated strategies can and do lose money, and leverage makes losses larger and faster. Nothing on this site is investment advice and we are not a registered investment adviser. Size positions so that a bad run is survivable, and never allocate more than you can afford to lose.

Where do my funds actually sit?

In your exchange account, or in your own wallet on a perp DEX. Nothing is pooled, nothing is deposited with Liquid Edge, and no strategy can move funds anywhere other than into and out of positions on your own account.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Strategy Studio builds rules in plain language: you stack conditions like "if funding is above this and price closes below that, then do this". Templates go further and give you a working strategy to start from. Coding is only relevant if you want to send signals in from your own scripts.

What is the difference between a centralized exchange and a perp DEX here?

On a centralized exchange you connect a trade-only API key and the exchange remains the custodian of your funds. On a perp DEX you connect a wallet and grant scoped trading permissions, so nobody holds your coins and access is enforced by the chain. Both run the same strategies.

What are "Engines" in Liquid Edge?

Liquid Edge operates a modular, multi-engine trading architecture designed to separate market intelligence, execution, risk enforcement, and adaptive optimization into independently governed systems. Each engine performs a constrained role and communicates through standardized interfaces, allowing the platform to adapt to changing market conditions continuously. The first of these to reach production was our automated rebalancing engine.
